5:30 PM - 6:30 PM	Intro to Pickleball - Beginner - Adult - Intro to Pickleball Beginner - Adults (W2) This 6-week class is designed to teach you how to play at the beginner level. Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in America with players' age range from 9-95 years old. A hybrid of badminton, tennis and ping-pong,it is played on a court the size of badminton court and uses a paddle and plastic ball much like a wiffle ball. Participants will learn the fundamentals of how to play pickleball, basic strokes of pickleball, controlling the balls, serves and return of serves, scoring, and actual game-plays.  Paddles and balls will be provided by the Recreation Department. Pre-registration online is required.  Current 2024 pickleball members will receive a $5 discount when registering. Instruction by: Leonard Hutabarat, PPR Certified Pickleball Coach. 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM	The Art of Carving Soap Workshop at the Clifton Arts Center - The Art of Carving Soap Workshop Spring is a great time to learn a new way to be expressive in art! Join the Clifton Arts Center for a fun and creative soap carving introduction designed specifically for elementary-aged children. In this hands-on workshop, young artists will learn the art of sculpting using simple tools and a bar of soap. Under the guidance of our experienced instructor, kids will unleash their imagination as they carve different designs and shapes, developing fine motor skills and fostering creativity in a supportive environment. The goal of our time together is that each child will leave with a new ability that they can continue to explore independently. All supplies will be provided.  Pre-registration is required.  For students in grades 3-8. Instruction by: Dan Gallagher, soap, wood, and golfball carver, with over 25 years of experience. 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM	Adult Open Indoor Volleyball - Adult Open Indoor Volleyball - WAITING LIST Adult Open Indoor Volleyball for ages 18 & over (no high school students permitted in program).  This is not a league, but a drop-in program.  Individuals interested in playing must register and pre-pay for each date, $8.00 per session, that you are interested in attending.  Day-of registration will not be accepted and there is a limited number of people permitted at each session; so once full, no more are permitted to play on that date.   Each person is required to create their own individual account (except for married couples or if parent and child live in same household).  The program is conducted at Clifton High School, 333 Colfax Avenue, on select Monday and Thursday evenings from 8:00 – 10:00 p.m.  Dates will be updated periodically, based on school schedule.  If schools are closed, due to inclement weather conditions, all evening programs are automatically cancelled.  You can call the weather hotline at 973 470-5680 after 4:00 p.m.	Clifton High School (333 Colfax Ave) - Gymnasium

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM	Lollipops & Roses Concert - Lollipops & Roses Concert This Annual Intergenerational Band Concert, co-sponsored by the Clifton Education Foundation, the Clifton Board of Recreation, and the Clifton Alumni/Community Band, will be held at the Clifton High School Auditorium (333 Colfax Ave) on Saturday, May 18, 2024, beginning 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through band members, or at the door on the day of the concert.  All proceeds go to the Clifton Education Foundation and Clifton Community Band General Fund.  The cost is $7.00 per ticket.
